Everyman, ____experience, day 14, it has been going real well yesterday was almost just a normal day as far as tiredness feeling goes. I got all of tired(?) for in after naps, but it went pretty well, this morning I woke up and went to do speed ____and my first 400, I will just call it my 400 repeat, 95, 95, 92, 92, 93, 92, 92, 92, 94, 91, 89, 93.

Alright, well I ran 50 miles this week. I did it 12 on Monday out Hibner(?). I did 11 out in Vendera(?) on Tuesday which Vendera(?) is a bad place to run, 8 at a park on Wednesday, 3.5 at the gym and then I swim on Thursday just to give my legs a bit of rest, I did 10 yesterday again at the park, and I did 5.5 this morning just I guess Hibner(?) but more in the neighborhood. So, I ran 50 miles this week and I felt pretty good and so there we go.

Well, this is a little under 2 days agreements with experiment. I am feeling pretty good most of the time. I feel like a Zombie when I wake up from my close sleep and still I have run for 30 minutes or so, but then back alive and then sometimes in the afternoons, I am really tired and sometimes in the early morning, I am really tired. Generally got a kind of a tired sensing my eyes, but I hope it goes away.

This, alright, this is Day 9 of the Sleep Experiment, I woke up quite well at 1 o'clock and went to run 3 1/2 miles and swim for 20 minutes and it's been a really good morning so far. My nap went pretty well.

Every man sleep, they slept. I'm feeling well and I woke up at 1 AM with running for an hour and 54 minutes. A pretty slow pace cause I'm just up in my mileage this week. So, I think I did about 12 miles, I'll confirm that later, but I'm feeling great and going to work later on this morning. And, I hope that I have a really good week.

Everyman Plan

I am going to start this on April Fool's Day.
I'll go to sleep at 10pm on March 31, and wake up at 1am.
Then I'll take a nap from 6-6:20, and wake up and start my day pretty much as normal.
I am lucky to be able to take my lunch break pretty much when I want. I'll take a nap from 11:20-11:40am.
Then, I'll take a nap from 4:40-5:00pm, just before I head home (but obviously after I've clocked out).
The first month, so I've heard, staying strictly on the schedule is very important. The first week, so I've heard, one may feel seriously sleep deprived and groggy.
So I'll try to stay right on schedule, and I'll report about how I'm feeling.
Right now, I'm practicing by waking up rigorously at 5am everyday. I'm usually pretty good about this for a few months and then kinda fall off for a month or so before I get back to it. It's a good way to prepare, I think.

Sleep Schedule:
10pm-1am core sleep
6:00 20 minute nap
11:20 20 minute nap
4:40 20 minute nap

Introduction

Welcome.
This blog is an experiment about an experiment.
It is about the Everyman sleep schedule.
It is about the Ironman Triathlon.
It is about me attempting both.
Everyman sleep is a polyphasic sleep schedule. A lot of people have heard of Uberman sleep, where a person takes a 20-minute nap every four hours, for a total of two hours of sleep every 24-hour day. Well, Everyman is a modification where the person sleeps for three hours and then takes three 20-minute naps. This cuts daily sleep down to four hours. What would you do with four extra hours every day to do whatever you want?
Well, one of the things that I am going to do is train for an Ironman Triathlon.
An Ironman Triathlon is a race where a person swims for 2.4 miles (3.86 kilometers), rides a bike for 112 miles (180.2 kilometers), and then runs a marathon (26.2 miles/42.195 kilometers). Sounds fun, no?
There are going to be a lot of really interesting things in this blog and a lot of deeply boring things in this blog. Umm, I hope. Both of those statements require that there are a lot of things in this blog, which means I need to put them there.
